Millerbernd Laser has proven results related to welding laser-cut parts. Having accurately cut laser parts enables the welders to put the parts into the weld fixture faster. Also, damaged parts due to being force-fit into the fixture are eliminated.
The accuracy and repeatability of the laser-cut parts prepares them better for robotic welding. The standard for robotic welding is to have accuracy in placement of parts of the wire's width (normally about .035"). The laser cutting, along with good fixturing makes this possible to create highly accurate weldments.
Reduction of Parts.
Laser cutting, along with accurate forming, allows designers to combine parts that would normally be made separately (Design for Manufacture) and then combined by welding.
